Description
Just trying to make a logical team no one fights me on too much.
The way I see it This team has more talent than last year and more depth though I wouldn’t say it’s a cup contender

Goaltending is brutal! Jones HAS to rebound And Melnichuyk has to come out looking like the stud he is!
(Truth is i see Jones 57 games 2.95 GAA 903 S% with a 603% on quality chances and Melnichuyk 25 games 2.78 and a 907% with a 645% on quality chances albeit in a very protected roll. Better then last year but Puts us at mediocre and that’s best case senario) maybe we get a vet in player tryout who plays well and takes the min to help out.

Defense is weak but I see the new coaching staff putting a plan to protect MEV who is still good but has lost a step and set the entire left D deeper in the Defensive zone to offset Karlsson Burns and Heed offensive capabilities and defensive shortcoming, and have the centers play high slot for quick turnaround to avoid odd man rushes that killed us last year.
This could save 8-10 more goals than last year helping out goalies a little bit more.

Offense is moderately improved Top end talent
Vladislav is a strong upgrade over Goodrow and Johnson being a STRONG upgrade over melter Karlsson, with the added depth and extended time off we should see Hertl at 100 come start of the season, and Kane couture Meir and Labanc all improve on last years numbers, that along with the rotation of kids we had last year having more experience and stepIng up combined will help. Joe and Marleau are now bottom 6 players in a supporting and mentoring roll in their last seasons, I assume marleau puts up similar numbers maybe a slight uptick with the better supporting staff joe I’m hoping the same.
This should add 10-18 goal over last year

As I see it with better Defense we we save 20-25 goals over last season and with the added offense an increase of 15 - 18 goals mean were scoring more than we’re giving up making us a playoff team.

Wouldn’t it be great to give joe and Marleau the cup as they retire. Highly unlikely With this team but it would be great.

This certainly seems a bit optimistic, but at least realistic-ish. Your D-pairing lines are a little strange, and there is no guarantee that goaltending is going to improve. I also don't think Sorenson is a 3rd line player right now, either move him down or find a team that will take him. Not sure this team makes the playoffs, but it probably isn't dead last.

I'd do that Johnsson deal though maybe switch it with Dallas's 3rd this year?

The D pairings are based on player chemistry
Ferraro and Karlsson started to gel last season
Simek and Burns work well together
Vlassic and Heed on the 3rd Pair seems like a good fit And MEV was a bad paring with Karlsson.

Like I said I’m hopping on the goaltending and the added rest and time off working with a better coach in Nabokov helping a it was in-season

Sorenson Thornton Labanc were a really solid line last year(18/19) and due to lack of depth Labanc was pushed up to first line duties and faltered this year, then he was playing better once that like was put back together later in the year, Sorenson is a decent 3lw line guy and if he can get back to last years stats (17 goals 30 points with a grit to his game) this looks like a Solid 3rd line pairing. And if sorenson falters we can move Marleau or kellman up to the third line.

If the guys (Karlsson Hertl couture) stay healthy and the goaltending is even slightly below average the team should qualify for the playoffs.
I like this team more than last years team but with all the big contracts our hands are tied from
Doing much more

I want to be fair to Toronto and Johnson is a good player, I’d almost consider the Colorado 2nd and tbh if this we’re an in-season trade we might even have to use the TBL 1st (you have to admit he’s way better than Goodrow)
