Description
OTT takes some serious money off Vancouver's books in order to get Boeser who fits in nicely with our rebuild. In the 1st round of the 2020 draft OTT gets Byfield, Rossi and Schneider. Maybe Rossi plays for Ottawa but I think all 3 head back to juniors.
Duclair and Tierney are both signed to 1 year deals. Safe to say I am comfortable moving Duclair and Tierney at the deadline and they should get very solid returns as rentals. Bozak will also get a solid return because his stats will look great after playing with Tkachuk and Boeser and on the first unit PP. Anisimov could get a late round pick too. Even if this team magically gels, with all those pieces moving at deadline OTT is still pretty much guaranteed a top 10 draft pick in 2021 (and a shot at 1st OA).
Don't give me grief about picking two pivots with #3 and #5. Having Byfield AND Rossi AND Logan Brown AND Norris all coming up gives us loads of options, plus a C can easily become a winger and has more value than a winger in a trade. Unless Logan Brown really steps up next season it's fair to say OTT will take the loss and move him. Maybe to Seattle if they agree to take Zaitsev?
Imagine this potential (with a couple vets sprinkled in):
Tkachuk - Byfield - Batherson
Rossi - White - Boeser
Formenton - Norris - C Brown
Parker - Paul - Pinto

Boesser isn’t a salary dump sweetener. In the very unlikely event that Vancouver would trade Boesser, they want a young RHD.

Is there a team looking to trade away a young RHD for a winger? Maybe you can go after Pietrangelo with some of the $12+M dollars in cap you just shipped to OTT, or extend Stecher who every VAN fan says is top 4 RHD in the trades they've posted here.
VAN is in cap crunch time. OTT is truly one of the few teams that can help.

Lol didn’t your team trade Stone (on an expiring contract) for a young dman? Also any trades where a young all star is used as sweetener in a cap dump? The team has some depth at right wing and needs RHD. That’s what the rumours related to Boesser were about. If they could find such a fit. There aren’t doing trades like this

I agree it's not something they would want to do. It's not ideal. But neither is their situation with the cap frozen for next season (and likely the season after). They're going to have to do something and it's probably going to hurt a little...
