Detroit & Buffalo would decline that as not enough value is going back to justify taking those cap hits.

So your saying Chariot, Mete, Kulak and Romanov is good enough to win… I don't think so. Romanov will be in Laval next season first of all, and If you plan on going into next season with the same D as this year, expect another crap year from this team

Romanov didn't make the jump to North America to play in Laval. You can't honestly say he isn't ready, and I can't say he is, only time will tell. Kulak has been playing great in the return to play so far. Mete is only 22 years old and has room to improve... So I would sooner continue with the players we have, then a slight upgrade in 29 y.o. Leddy, and a $5.5M contract for 3 years. Leddy was "rumoured" to Habs for like 5 years now, its only when other teams need cap space that suddenly their fans entertain the offer... I personally am not taking on unnecessary cap hit when we have our young players needing raises in the near future.


Most of all, IF Habs are looking to contend next year, there are far better options than Nick Leddy available.

Attach a decent prospect with Hickey and maybe the Sabres make this deal.
