Description

This is not me saying these trades are fair, just a jumping off point.

I think the picks need some massaging, but this is the general idea.

Shed cap through taking some Term on Zaitsev in order to make space for Pietr.

Pietr makes Severson expendable, and he is cost controlled RHD, so NJ can flip him to the leafs for Marner.

Nilson acts as NHL ready backup to Blackwood, and is off the books in one year

Thats a good question, any adds on top of that that would get you there probably tilt it to a no from jersey to a non-starter

Seems like Dubas absolutely loves Marner, and I highly doubt theres anything you could trade to sway him away. It would have to blow his mind, an offer he can't refuse. I have no doubt, the first pick would have to be involved, and likely another one, plus I'm sure he'd demand Hughes. Think about what you would demand for Hughes alone, and reverse it.
