Description
COL owned OTT 1st round pick 2019 draft. OTT finished 31st in league, meaning best chance at 1st overall pick. Lost the lottery draft, pick slipped to 4th and COL gets Byram (instead of Hughes 1st overall).

2016-2017 season COL finished 31st in league, meaning best chance at 1st overall pick. Lost the lottery draft, pick slipped to 4th and COL gets Makar (instead of Hischier 1st overall).

At the time most COL fans were gutted about not "winning" 1st overall pick, but looking back on it, Id rather have Makar + Byram over Hughes + Hischier (yes yes yes, too early to tell, I am viewing it in terms of current value today). BTW F NJD for landing the 1st overall pick in both the 2017 AND 2019 lottery lol

Just food for thought for fans of the OTT, LAK and DET fanbases.
Yeah you didnt get the 1st overall pick, but it doesnt guarantee you wont walk away with the "better" player

Also this AGM is in reference to anyone wondering how much cap space you can save by buying out nearly the entire roster.. Im looking at you TOR

Lmao how did a negative number get there, if you buyout Rantanen he has to pay YOU 1.2mil? 😂 😂

Also as a Sens fan I’m looking forward to Stutzle or Byfield, preferably Byfield. I think he has the potential to be the best player out of this draft in 3 or 4 years.

Horrible post. EVERYONE knows LAFRENIÈRE is that player in this draft and it’s not close.

Edit: That’s a harsh reaction. Even Yzerman said exactly the point you’re making when trying to calm our media down. But what else should Detroit’s response be.

Just throwing my two cents in, I personally think stutzle will end up being the best overall of the 2020 draft

          But it's just a guess

I think you could argue that Lafreniere/Byfield are just as far ahead this draft as Hughes/Kakko in 2019 and Hischier/Patrick was in 2017

DET has a few interesting pieces in their system. But development is just as important as the player you draft is
