Perron was not a terrible player but this was a massive price to pay for a player who just did not click on the Pens roster. Although, he has really found his game since then and seems to be doing great in St Louis. Unfortunately, this wasn't the production the Penguins got and that 2015 1st ended up being an elite center

At the time I remember being mad at this trade because Despres seemed promising. It turned out that Lovejoy was a great addition to the Pens roster and he ended up having much better seasons than Despres

This was pretty much a massive upgrade at D for the Pens. Cole played a large role in the cup wins and although he had issues with head coach Mike Sullivan, his play should have earned him a contract as we badly miss him now.

overall I think he did a decent job. He has won the cup several times so I think he deserves an A. Pitt will miss him when hes gone.

Honestly, his mistakes have just started recently. Without those early moves, the Pens don't win b2b.
But what he's doing now also needs to be taken into consideration

Ya, I think Rutherford did a pretty bangup job. I think the Zucker trade is an overpayment. Addisson is going to be good and Galeynchuk still has potential plus a 1st.

Also, Edmonton needs to stop trading with Pittsburgh.

I mean he did bring in key pieces that got 2 cups, so I'll give him an A- but he's had some real head scratchers here lately. I'm not going to be to harsh about the Kapanen trade yet but it do feel like its an over-payment, but I've been wrong about some of his trades before. I was critical of the Perron and Hagelin trade and I was woefully wrong about that one.

The Bortuzzo/Cole trade was one of this rare win-wins. Bortz has done yeoman's service for us, including on our Cup run.
