Kessel contract has already been retained by two teams. Ari isn't allowed to add more retention. So you have to send more salary out to make room, if you want him.

I don’t think Pittsburgh retained at all. It’s just the $1.2M retained by the Leafs.

This is horrible. Kessel’s contract would be horrible next year, and he’s not the player you want on your first line. I’d rather have defensively responsible Poehling, who’s much cheaper. Not to mention the fact that we can keep Byron.
