Derek Stepan with the retention you mention (3.25k and 1.75k) would be a 6,495,000 cap hit for the pens.

?? He is at 6.5 so with the retention by OTT and ARI I'm not sure where the 6.495k number comes from. Am I missing something?

I didn’t say 6.495k. I said it would be 6.495 million. K=thousand. 3.25k would be 3,250 and 1.75k would be 1,750 lol
I think you meant million not k (or thousand)

Meh...doesn’t really move the needle for me. I’d rather just sign Koivu and not give up assets. Lafferty likely starts the season in WBS. Can’t see us signing ERod and Jankowski to sit them in the press box.
