Description
Everyone be acting like the Tanev and Markstrom signings suck because they’re 30 and might be bad for the last year, guess what? I honestly don’t care as long as they are good for the next 2 or 3. That’s when our window is open. If we get top 10 goaltending and solid defensive second pair play for the next 3 years I’ll be thrilled.

Motivate Gawdin to take league min over 2 years by increasing his minors salary or guaranteeing him x amount of dollars per year (300-450k or smth), if necessary of course. I think he can be a useful depth player as soon as next season, so having him at league min for two years will be helpful. Kylington signs for 2 years to be a 6/7D and be available for Seattle.

NJD retains half on Palmieri, Detroit gets a 5th for retaining 750k more. Mangiapane is signed to 2x2.25 indicated as 2x1.5 here to account for that extra 750k Detroit retains.

Rinaldo isn’t a regular but gets put in the lineup when injuries happen or we want physicality (e.g. vs. EDM or VGK or DAL or NYI or whatever). Wallmark, Gawdin, or Robinson, whoever wins the 4RW spot, will probably have to play PK2, unless they want Dube or Tkachuk there (I think Dube should be tried there to get him on the ice more personally but Wallmark, Robinson, and Gawdin all have some PK experience).

Anywhere for whatever we can get at this point. I reckon he’s worth a 3rd but given what some guys I thought were worth a 3rd went for this week I’d settle for a 5th or something at this point.

What about trading for Laine to play with Gaudreau?

Last year's Mangiapane negotiation has really hurt the Flames. They probably could have got him for 2 years at 1.2, but they wouldn't budge on the QO.

Now he's in line for a nice pay day, that will make any other moves difficult

Idk man he wasn’t overly good this year. Treliving’s also a hardass negotiator in general, he still has yet to give ANYONE more than 7 mil for example, he could probably pull off a 2x2.25 bridge

What would this cost though? Mangiapane+Kylington+1st+more? I don’t think we can afford to give up Pelletier, Zary, or Wolf, and doubt we trade Kuznetsov or Poirier. Parsons, Ruzicka, Zavgorodniy, MEP on the table. Don’t know if that is enticing enough. I also don’t think he’s even on the table anymore now that they have two top 4 RD and a 2C, but that would be a fantastic partner for Johnny. Stammer maybe being available would be a great add too. If TyJo gets bought out or we get paid to take him that would be a decent add too, maybe a bit expensive for a 2nd liner though, and Tampa can’t retain
