Description
I still love the idea of Duclair and McDaddy playing together... and Kassian providing the grit and defence required to balance the line. This is my wish.

This also ensures that PoolParty has a talented winger partner, in this case... Ennis. He’d be sure to find some success on the line proposed below.

Why would NJ take that deal when they could just sign Duclair themselves?

I should have clarified that it doesn’t necessarily have to be NJ that we dump Chaisson too. Anyone willing to take him will be fine. Obviously a pick would be an ideal return... but “future considerations” (nothing) will be okay too.

But to answer your question... because I don’t think Duclair wants to go to a team like NJ who’s not going to be as competitive or as likely to make the playoffs like the Oilers.

McDaddy? People actually call him that? Now Duclair would be nice for the right price. I doubt Holland goes and gets anyone else out of free agency, if he does I will be surprised, and maybe happy depending on who he would choose.

Agree, but he won't be able to find any money out there. Same issue for dumping Chaisson. Outside of 4 or 5 teams, no one has enough space to take anyone else (after signing all their RFAs and filling open roster spots) ... no more chairs left for Salary Dumps and mid tier wingers.

Duclair may be looking at a worse contract than he was previously offered by Sens imo.

Chaisson is on an affordable contract. I’d be surprised if OTT or Detroit or another rebuilding team with low salary wouldn’t be willing to take him. It’s a one year deal and whoever grabs him could flip him for another asset at the deadline.

I digress though. Main point of my post is the idea of Duclair playing with McDavid and what people’s thoughts were. Don’t get caught up in the weeds.
