Description
The vegas trade may need balancing but hear me out on the thought process:
Vegas has to move cap to be able to sign Petro. The move provides Vegas with 6.6 mil in added cap space (7 if u swap reimer with Mrazek). Fleury is a nearly impossible to move contract, and a deal which allows vegas to move 10 mil out is hard to find. The cost of the deal is that vegas does not get fair value back for Marchesault. If the value is off let me know what you would change. I could see the canes taking out either goaltender and replacing with Ned to open up even more cap for vegas. I could see the canes throwing in a prospect or upgrading to 2 seconds if need be

from a canes perspective i think this deal makes a ton of sense. If fleury's game rebounds (and it is a risk for sure) it fills both of the cane's 2 biggest needs while giving them enough cap space for Svech and Hamilton

I like that tactful MAF deal (well done there) as much as I dislike the Niederreiter deal which is lacking tact and absolutely the wrong guy to free up cap with

I know that y'all here in AGM world aren't analytically centered but gosh can the best possession player of his generation get a bit more appreciation please?

Buffalo would probably swap Gardiner for Pilut for instance and Martinook/Foegele/McGinn can be replaced by some the recently declined RFAs etc.

I do not disagree with Nino being a valuable piece i just can never pin point where he fits in the canes lineup. If he gets hot he is a top liner player, if not he is a 5 mil fourth liner. Before the signing of fast i woild have put him on the third line with foegele and staal. I would agree on moving Mcginn as a good option for cap, but it only opens up a little over a mil in space. For the canes to bring in the vegas players they need to ship out like 7-8 mil. I would be good to move gardiner and put bean in the lineup but its a real bad look to move 2 guys a year after signing them to big ufa deals
