I think the issue with moving Kerfoot is that other free agent centers who didn't have down years have signed for $1M-$2M. Moving Kerfoot and getting value back might happen as free agency goes further, but it is more likely teams will be less willing to take on his cap hit with a frozen cap.

Thornton is not a 3C anymore I'm sorry. Even if he does come to Toronto I would expect it to be for league minimum. I would rather have Soderberg, Galchenyuk, Haula, or maybe even Brassard on a one year deal at 2 mill or below.

Also you have a 24 man roster and Engvall will likely be the one traded out of the 4 in the press box so just add him to whatever trades you make.
