Really bad for ANA. You don't trade a #1/2 D to create cap flexibility when the guy is so young lol. The return is very underwhelming and is pure quantity.

Don't know why a rebuilding team like the Leafs need to take on Lindholm (and his contract) and unneeded Stoner (and his salary) for four or five assets.

Come on palhal. You can't honestly be made at this. Lindholm is approach star status - if he hasn't already reached it. You take them when you have the chance. $6M for him is well worth it. Leafs give up very little (in comparison) for a LOT. Bad GM's turn this down.

Because Lindholm is a 22 year old player not even close to his prime yet is still a borderline #1 already? Seriously????? I'll chalk it up that you're confusing Lindholm with someone else, because that deal is a no brainer for Toronto.

Hello leafs1967 and BreKel. Thank you for your comments and they might be closer to reality than what I wrote. But, I think we are approaching untold silliness when guys come of their RFAs and we think they all are deserving huge salaries. I know stats aren't everything but Linholm and Trouba are 30 point Dmen. Other RFA silliness Jones of Columbus, maybe McKinnon of the Avs. Gee, Kucherov signed for "just" 4.6m. Maybe Kucherov should be the norm.
I admit I don't watch Lindholm that much, but he is worth 7% of your cap? Zaitsev might be as good as any Leaf Dman, does he get 6m next year? I know it's long way away (3 years) but if Marner and Matthews, Nylander (2 years) want and deserve big raises, the Leafs will be in the same position as the Ducks.
