    What you have here is good - something like what I was thinking. I like the idea of keeping Saad if he'll take a pay cut and it works out well this year.

    There are a lot of fans that don't want lock in Landy for the full 8 years. I think they'd rather see him signed for 5-6 years then re-evaluate things after that. I'm not sure that would work, though, as his AAV is likely to increase at a shorter term. I wonder if, given the financial landscape and factor in a willingness to take a "home-town" discount if he wouldn't lower the AAV to $7M for the full 8 years. To me, it's worth it because, by the time he gets to the end of that deal, the cap should have gone up significantly and $7M will seem more like $4M in today's dollars.

    With Makar, it's going to be interesting to see if he wants to sign a longer-term deal (4-8 years) or do a bridge and see if he can't parlay that into a bigger payday a bit further down the road when the cap has gone up and he's more established, maybe even been nominated for a Norris.
