Description
Kerfoot has to go. For no real money. once he's gone it gets easier. FA depth signings could be different. The market has collapsed, and cheap depth is everywhere. Not much was needed anyway. Perry would be a nice piece. Maybe seeing Simmonds and Joe head over swings him? Better chances here than Dallas, methinks. The Ottawa trade I'm not sure. I would dump him for less, certainly. The point is the space, so a worse deal works as well.

Kerfoot to Ottawa just doesn’t work.

I see team after team with Kerfoot traded to Ottawa, but it’s just not a realistic option. Ottawa has an abundance of centres, but it’s mostly because of Kerfoots contract. I don’t care what his total salary remaining is, Dorion doesn’t trade for players with large signing bonus in their contracts. It forces Melnyk to make a balloon payment, and Melnyk hates those, so Dorion knows better than to include them in the contracts he negotiates, or trades for.

Edmonton filled their 3C with Turris, maybe Winnipeg is an option.

I can see what you are saying, but he's not just a three C. He is a better LW than C.
