Description
without trading ryan (which with everyone straped for cash will most likely happen) its not possible to sign out the rest of the open spots for league minimum. So running a 22 man roster is what will happen.

Given that kylington still needs to accept his qualifying offer (don't think he went to arbitraion), this is most likely what the team will look like.

Kahun will be a great 4th liner, and stone is an ok 7th d-man and an extra right shot D that can step in if needed.

With the expansion draft flames wont be able to add a top 6 RW which, along with goal consistency in the top line (im looking at you #13, #23) is what they desperately need to be considered cup contenders.

With the right moves flames may be considered top contenders within 3 years (hopefully before gio retires). Treliving has shored up the goalie job, and has some solid D, now next year after the expansion draft, he should focus on top 6 forwards and flames should be golden.

Thoughts my dudes?

its a good dream. unfortunately if the flames are going to keep gaudreau, monahan and tkachuk they are going to command an increase in salary. if the flames pay them then they wont be able to afford anyone else. top 6 forwards come with expensive price tags that i just dont believe the flames will be able to afford. ultimately i think one of those top three is going to leave or be traded and then the flames will be in the same situation that they currently are. all of our assets are set to be paid big money after the next 2 seasons and then i think the mediocrity will continue

sorry I'm a pessimist

I whole heartedly agree, but move one of those players will be done either next offseason (to build up the fwds) or when their contracts run out, out of the big three (and I know I'm going to get flak for this) I think Monahan is most likely to be moved. Johnny i believe had a down year and will bounce back, its another question when it comes to playoffs.

We won't move chucky, so those other 2 are most likely to move.

I would not be entirely surprised if Backlund is on Seattle in a year and Lucic retires in 2 (same way Niskanen just did where he is "suspended without pay")

i agree. however i think the window to trade them for impactful assets was this offseason. next year your just trading them as a rental to a contender and that doent usually return enough to make a difference

That would be great if that happened. i could definetly see the backlund thing happening but i cant see lucic walking away from 6 million dollars even if the team asked him too
