Description
Alright let’s say we have trouble getting Danault to resign and he decides not to negotiate during the season. It’s a tough call whether to keep him to help with the growth of the kids and depth in the lineup. He’s pretty critical to this team this year.
Having said that the alternative would be give him the contract he wants based on trading him to the Wild now
This team looks very solid this year but in the coming season it looks like we’re getting weak on RHD options and LW scoring. This is a deal I think can benefit all players and both teams.
Tell me if I need to tweak it but I think it’s heavy coming from mtl but those are very good prospects out of Minnesota.

Very interesting, the Habs seem to be going towards the playoffs. This trade would do the opposite, it would take them farther away.

yes I agree losing Danault now hurts. Mete still has some growth but he’s easily expendable. Bjugstad is hardly a replacement but can play 3C for a year while peohling is growing. So the argument is does it make us more of a super power in 2 years with Addison and Beckham rather than Danault makes us a playoff team now. I really think we’re more than just playoff team now but it’s hard to say we can beat Tampa or Colorado at this point

I really like the D and they are in their proper spots. If need be you can also move Kulak and keep Mete. helps with cap.

As for Danault, arguments can be made both ways and it will be a tough negotiation. How much does he want and at what spot. But Julien already is changing the language saying several times in his press conference, top 9 versus 1,2,3. Which makes sense. This is the first time in years we have depth and scoring. Should be a great year!

Yes top 9 better suits the Habs for sure. Any of those lines can be put on the ice against any line in the league with confidence and produce. There’s gonna be another step to be made to get us over the hump of being a true contender. What step is that gonna be I’m not sure yet.
I know it’s a projection but I see Suzuki as a better player than Barzal in the near future, his junior numbers don’t suggest anything other than that. Along with his progression already in the nhl he’s on his way to stardom.
