For one your right that Hoffman prob wouldn't sign with the canucks, however I think they would absolutely sign him, if the price was right.. however I can tell you right now he will not sign anything less than 5 mill and at least 3 years. And hes almost a point per game player, always has been. So definitely not a waste of money.. as far as trading gaudette. Canucks won't do that either.. I do like the idea of cernak but they wouldn't give up benn, tampa needs to clear room not add anything more.

He is 60 point player with 30 of those on the powerplay. 1st powerplay unit.

He won’t play the 1st unit in Vancouver so those pp will cut in half, so 45 point player. At that maybe $3m maybe worth it. But for a player hoping to “bank” on himself, 45 points won’t cut it.

Why would we sign a guy whos never played a game for us for 7 yrs? 4 seems enough. Even that would be a lot.

Not sure Erik Haula is the answer at 3c either but I agree we should be looking to upgrade on Gaudette if possible. Though we'll prob just give him another yr to see how he develops.
