It will cost way more than that especially if you want retention. North of a 1st round pick for sure.

Both fair points, but I think it makes the forward core a lot deeper and allows them to comfortably move Lindholm to C. It could potentially help that Palmieri and Ward spent three years together in NJ if he needs reasons to waive.
