Description

I'm not 100% certain this will happen, but I have read in the past the NHL was considering expanding the NHL 23 man roster size. For hypothetical purposes, I have expanded the roster size from 23 men to 26 men. So only 3 extra spots, but I think this can benefit a ton of teams.

FOR THE RECORD

I think the opening roster can look something like this. There's going to be a ton of shuffling with the lineup with Pasta and Marchand out. You think Frederic is going to make the opening lineup over McKegg? I can see it. Senyshyn in the lineup? I can see it. I think each scratched player will get their chance. We just REALLY need some of these young guys to take that next step. This can either be a really ugly start of the year or it can give us some hope.

imo they go with Frederic and rotate Senyshyn/Studnicka in. Wish one of Seny/Stud was a lefty so they could both play top 9 minutes but dont think either can really play the opposite side.

Yeah I would like Frederic on the fourth line to see what he can do. I think the only right handed player that actually has history of playing the left side is Ondrej Kase, so they may experiment him on that side for the start of the year. I know most of us are pushing for Senyshyn to make this lineup in some fashion, but all in all it came down to Studnicka vs Senyshyn to crack this lineup. I became more comfy taking Studnicka over Seny to at least replace some of the scoring.Like I said though, most of those scratches will see playing time at the start of the year. It's going to be a training camp full of hungry players, it's pretty decent competition.
