This was a rumor thrown out by Nick Kypreos on HNIC Hot Stove Report. Can't say I'd be thrilled with this deal. Carlo is proving to be a young top 4 defenseman (already) as a 19 year old. He looks very good, and, imo, is at worst what Trouba is now (which is a very good top 4 defenseman). You're moving Carlo for Trouba in hope that Trouba takes that next step. I would want the Bruins to build WITH both of them.

Spooner, Zboril, 1st is a deal I've been pushing for Trouba. That's the only trade I'd want the Bruins making for Trouba. Nothing with McAvoy or Carlo in it, because these two have big time potential.

Still my thought the Trouba is not a 6m Dman. (although the trade might be OK)., Would the Bruins be better to not to make the trade, keep their inexpensive assets and then reassess next summer. Then they use the money for someone else....Shattenkirk or someone lesser but still good.

Yeah i saw this too. With Boston possibly not making the playoffs this year, I'd be hesitant to give a non lottery protected 1st rounder.

I still think Boston should let Krug be the one going the other way. he's a decent player but at the end of the day he's 5'9 and you have other youngsters on their way in Zboril and McAvoy.

If Krug and a 1st rounder gets it done, I say take it. Trouba is a heck of a player.

I'm with you. I want Trouba, but not sure that the upgrade over Carlo does much now or in the future other than kill their cap again. If they could get him for prospects+picks then I'm all in. I'd even do a lesser deal for Fowler, i.e. Lauzon or Zboril plus a pick or two. Add without taking away from the NHL roster. Pipe dream, I'm sure, but stranger things have happened.
