Description
Vegas trade rumors here: https://vegashockeynow.com/2020/12/18/is-there-a-fit-for-fleury-in-washington-capitals-vegas-golden-knights-trade-rumors/

I think Fleury would be an amazing addition for the Caps for this season, but most likely would be traded after this season to free up salary cap room. I know Fleury has a M-NTC, but I would like to think he would be fine coming to the Caps. Who knows.

And for those thinking Sammy / Vanecek as the tandem, I am not a fan of that for many reasons: Limited experience (26 games), no experience in playoffs, Copley as taxi goalie meaning only 1 goalie left in Hershey, what if one gets injured, etc. I do think Caps make a play for an additional goalie (whatever that may be).

I do not think the Caps would have to throw in a pick, but if it did come down to that, a 3rd and above would be suitable. I do not think the Caps would trade anything better than a 3rd.

This scenario is probably unrealistic (cap situation, Vegas trade, Brassard signing for $800k, etc), but would be interesting. If this did happen, I think this team would be pretty dangerous.

Last I saw the cost for Vegas to get rid of him was a first and a second but that was full salary. No way they take more salary back than they give

Just posting a hypothetical I saw from "Vegas Hockey Talk" (https://vegashockeynow.com/2020/12/18/is-there-a-fit-for-fleury-in-washington-capitals-vegas-golden-knights-trade-rumors/)

As I said in the description, unrealistic.

Caps need cap flexibility for 21-22. They shouldnt tie up 3.5 million for a lower than middle of the road goalie in 21-22.

If Ovie truly wants 12.5 million per season, they will need to save cap anywhere they can.
