They're not trading TJ this season, they're just not. With the Kucherov LTIR, not only do they not need to financially, but they also need the depth in the top 6. They'll move him to Seattle in the expansion draft along with a sweetener for Seattle to take him. The only moves they'll make in season this year, is potentially moving one or both of Pacquette and/or Coleman to free up a couple million to maybe make a TDL move.

He seems very expendible in their depth chart to me. I'm not saying they give him away for free, but for a fair market trade, seems like an obvious trade candidate, considering that he's probably going to want a raise that they can't afford to do anyways in the off-season.

Cup run guys like Coleman are often the difference, unless JBB is made the “offer you can’t refuse” he goes a free agent
