A bigger package from CGY than I've seen in other deals, but if Dubois truly is available, there will be a bidding war. Kylington and Phillips are decent AHL/fringe NHLers right now who could get a better shot with a new club. 1st and 3rd seems fair as well.

I think that's what it's going to take to get him off the Jackets and over any other bidders. His contract makes him a lot easier to move relative to what his cap hit should be.

His cap hit isn’t too far off what he’s done, it’s great if he progresses as expected.

Then the deal just doesn't get done. The Flames won't trade Tkachuk or Valimaki. It's just that simple. And I can pretty much guarantee CBJ won't be getting a player of Tkatchuk's calibre back for PLD. Maybe that means they don't trade him but how many more superstar players are they going to keep letting walk to free agency and leave for nothing?
