I just don’t think a trade with the Leafs makes sense. The only offers seem to be giving the Flames Kerfoot (we have 4 good centres and absolutely no need for a left shot winger) or Dermott (super deep on the left side with 4 left shots in the top 6 and Kylington/Mackey not even playing). Unless the Leafs are giving up Simmonds there isn’t really a player of the same calibre that Calgary would have any interest in.

I would ask for Mikheyev. But TOR won't do it

I like Mikheyev as a 2-way depth guy but I’ve heard he has a terrible shot and Calgary really needs more shooters. Our bottom six is energetic enough imo, and while we could use another PK guy in case of injuries, it’s not exactly a priority.

A Bennett trade probably isn't going to land a shooter.

For a team that starts poorly, they could use more energy guys, like Mikheyev.
