Description
Prices may not be exact, but I like these guys as fits. RNH allow you to move on from Krejci if need be although I still wouldnt hate a 4x2 deal or something like that. Ekholm would be a great fit, its just so tough with the expansion draft and essentially giving up Gryz at the season's end.

If you went for Ekholm and RNH, couldn't you go 4-4 on protections? Protect Pasta, Marchand, Bergeron, RNH, McAvoy, Carlo, Ekholm, and Gryz? Who else is a must protect forward for Boston that I'm missing?

Coyle needs to be protected, has a NMC. I suppose they could do that with a RNH trade without an extension but that obviously adds a risk that he may not resign. Also if Ritchie keeps it up/ Kase rebounds to the kind of player he was a couple years ago it would be tough to lose either of them.

Expansion draft is going to be tough

What if Boston only goes after Ekholm? (what I would consider the be the most realistic option)

4-4 protection:
Pasta, Marchand, Bergeron, Coyle, Grz, Ekholm, McAvoy, Carlo

It leaves Ritchie, Kase, and DeBrusk exposed, but maybe an expansion considerations trade could be made to make the loss more favorable for Boston.

If Debrusk continues to look lost it's an option, but I'm not sure management would be willing to simply give up a 24 year old former 27 goal scorer for free. Super torn on what I want them to do
