Strome the eventual odd man out

Interesting deadline coming up for the Rangers. Not a true sell off but some moves could be made. One of our most polarizing topics is Ryan Strome. Takes a ton of heat on here and Twitter but still continues to produce. With or without Panarin I have to add. Now has 116 pts in 161 games for the Rangers playing 2/3 line and both center and right wing. Former top 5 pick who lost his way but has revived his career in a major way. Great job filling the 2C role and forming a lethal partnership with Panarin. It’s not all riding Panarins coattails as I read too often. Just because you have a skilled player like Panarin doesn’t mean anyone can play with him. Strome had success in his first year centering the third line, last year with Panarin, this year with Kreider and I really liked the line with him, lafreniere and Kakko when they were together for two games. His weaknesses are face offs and unnecessary minor penalties especially offensive zone type. With his salary, age and growth of Chytil he will not make it past his current contract. Will be an amazing flip of Ryan Spooner for whatever we pull in for him. With his production, ability to play up and down the lineup including with top skill players, and either at center or wing with a year left on his deal I think he’s a valuable trade chip. Haul at this point I’d think a solid prospect plus a 2nd, 2 seconds or if bad contracts taken back I could see as high as a first coming back. What will be his market at the deadline or will it be a draft day deal?
