Trade deadline part 2 RW targets
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SlimTJ100</b></div><div>Only way I see it is if Kakko is part of the trade for a RW (which is possible) . I think Kakko gets another look on zibs line before the TDL and they’ll base a decision on that
We really need to focus on centers if the cap doesn’t allow us to get multiple players. Center takes priority over RW imo
Wheeler is destined for 3RW or 13th F. I don’t think he can hang all season with Zib and Kreider, but he’s good enough for the 3rd line</div></div>
The Wheel Chair was on full display today. We can’t go into playoffs with him on top line

Jones is already too good for the AHL so it makes no sense for him to go back there</div></div>
Plus he’d have to clear waivers and surely get claimed if they put him up

Agree with you on a lot. Don’t think Kakko goes unless it’s a guy with term coming back. Center is certainly the priority with Chytil going back to Czechia to reset and Kakko skating. Getting him back is like making an early deadline move and agree to let him go up top again. If he falters again and we have cap make a move and put him to third line checking role. From some earlier comments I made I’d definitely like to get a versatile player who can move from center to wing if needed. Wheeler has had flashes but third line at best and he can’t crack top 9 needs to be scratched

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rags21</b></div><div>Rangers aren’t gonna overpay for a guy they probably could have kept if they dumped goodrow, it just seems dumb and bad asset management
For some reason, this NYR fan base is obsessed with rentals and bringing them back (motte, Tarasenko, Kane, Vatrano)
Crazy how Vatrano flew under the radar, rangers got him for a 4th, he played well for the rangers, got paid in the off-season, and now everyone is interested in him</div></div>
With the cap tight rentals are all you can do at deadline. I’m not interested in Kane coming back or high price for Tarasenko again. Vatrano was the best fit we’ve had last two years with Mika and Kreider. Has 17 goals on a **** team so should garner plenty of interest

Before his injury the play out of Kakko wasn’t confidence building for top 6 in the playoffs. Don’t think wheeler can manage it all year and playoffs.

Kuz is unlikely. Vrana and Lavi don’t have good history, wouldn’t mind the other guys</div></div>
Felt like he bounced back and forth in Tampa. The versatility would be huge in any deal. Could save us from having to make two deals

Agree with you there. They learned the hard way last year going after overpriced guys. Value deadline they had with Vatrano was much more effective and hope that’s the route they go

BRENNAN OTHMANN might be the first guy I ask for Might require adding a young depth defenceman which we do have. I understand if I am asking for too much but this is mostly just the perspective of wanting prospects to be the focal point of the trade and not picks they have enough picks and want to accelerate their rebuild if possible.</div></div>
Gorton was big on drafting him but it would take a lot for the Rangers to part with him. A 3rd line center rental like Monahan is going to be a lower prospect. Othmann in a hockey deal we’d be asking for Hutson or Guhle

He’s lower on my list but I like his versatility and playoff experience. Haven’t watched much of Chicago this year so how’s he been playing? I’d hope the Rangers could keep it no more than a 4th and maybe a lower prospect at most

Kane
Motte deal today won’t allow this trade for Kane anymore unless we move a bigger contract. Will only have 908k in cap plus dumping Kravtsov and Leschyshyn still leaves us at 2.55 space and Kane needs 2.625 minimum. Plus we’d be without an extra forward

My scenario was if Kane says only NY. He’s got a question mark with injury and didn’t look great last night against Toronto. Not paying for what he used to be but present time. I’d throw Kravtsov in instead of Hajek if needed

The premise of the Kane trade is based off Taylor Hall going from buffalo to Boston. He would only go to them and return was Anders Bjork and a second
