Or he walks and you don’t get Bedard. First would be great for the league but far from guaranteed

You almost nailed the cap. Think they need to waive Leschyshyn and bring up Carpenter to just get under the cap by a few thousand dollars

They’d have to move them to make it work with the cap. The first should be the reward if Kane forced a Rangers only deal

Final pieces for the cup team
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MoreHitzSeider</b></div><div>I'm not debating whether Barby would be a good fit on the Rangers. He certainly would. I just don't understand why there's so many Rangers CFACGM's having the Rangers 2-3 mil over the cap.</div></div>
Doesn’t show the accrual built up by the deadline. They have about 1.2 in space now that should reach 1.6 by the deadline

It’ll be fine with the cap. They’ll be at about 1.6 in space with current roster with accrual

Hajek is everything wrong with the Blues D this season, I cannot envision a scenario where they agree to take him. They have 3-4 LDs in the AHL better than Hajek.</div></div>
Haha gone through that with his name too since he was drafted. I like Gauthiers game this year, he’s a penalty drawing machine but I’d still rather give him up then Kravtsov.

I get the cap dumps on it but I think they’ll have enough cap space accrued to not have to dump both on those deals with the retention. Already dumped a 2nd on the nemeth deal in the off season don’t think they need to now

Stashing Nyquist for playoffs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mokumboi</b></div><div>If you want Vova max retained and Barby, it'll be more like the 23 1st, a 23 2nd and Robertson (or some will say Korczak), and the Blues will take Blais back to further help with the cap. The other two are hard passes and a deferred pick isn't going to win the Barby race.</div></div>
I’ve tried to include Kravtsov to move his money off the books and make the trades work on the cap hits. Hajek will probably get thrown into some deal or they’ll finally waive him. Figured with Mikkola possibly moving he’d be good insurance for them

The impression I got from Chris Johnston from TSN is that if the cap works they can take him for a day and then put him on LTIR like what Tampa did a couple years ago with Kucherov. So might need to do it a couple days before deadline when they accrue enough cap space

Like the Megna idea as long as the price isn’t too steep. We may need another cheap d man with our cap issues next year. Agree on the Panarin rw and that’s what I’d like to keep our higher picks for

If that ends up being the price for Tarasenko (it won't be), it's not worth it. Especially playing GG hockey.</div></div>
You think the price will be higher for Vlad? He’s got a full no move clause. Panarin can be a solid back checker when he commits to it

I think we could too but the price may be too high and do we really want to pay that for a third pair d man? Think Mikkola is an upgraded version of Harpur and that’s working for Schneider

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CaseyFlyman</b></div><div>Are Khodorenko and Blais in there to free up contract spots? Khodorenko wouldn't have much value to the Jackets, who have tons of young forwards with limited upside already. Blais looks like a salary and contract swap, but with retention that doesn't make a ton of sense for Columbus without getting another sensible piece in return (say, a 2024 4th or 5th?). Gus with 50% retained for a 2nd would be ideal.</div></div>
He was in there as an extra to take on the Blais contract. It basically helps us acquire Gus for only 1.2 million. I’d be fine with a late round pick instead if they didn’t want the extra player. Blais is a contract we need to move or waive to open or more space for someone useful
