im intrigued by this... Capitals can easily replace Jensen but idk if we have a roster spot for Bennett...i do think Bennett fits in well with the Capitals personality but idk who would sit to have him fill in

Funny enough that was my only thought about the deal, I originally had Nick Dowd in the deal instead of Jansen but I'm not sure if Bennett and a third gets that done.

Dowd takes WAY too many offensive zone penalties i would strongly reconsider if you were looking to spend Bennett and a 3rd. You could probably get Engvall for less

I like this. I like Jensen a lot, and he's having a good year, just playing quietly well in his own zone, in the minutes he gets. Bennett isn't having an awesome year, yet, but he can fill in anywhere in the bottom nine if the Caps get injuries, and he gives them a fifth veteran center they can shuffle around the lineup. Just seems like a good utility pickup for the Caps this year. He's in that awkward position Burakovsky was in when the Caps tried to trade him forever, where he might not get his Q.O., but I think throwing in a third makes a very fair offer for Nick Jensen, because Bennett is the type of player I've been saying the Caps should look to rent at the deadline this year, and they do have a lot of depth on defense, to deal from. Then if he decides to stick around at a number that works for the club, it's a bonus. If not, he can always sign back in Calgary.
