Description
Obviously would be less likely to have Auston but overall this team really isn't that much better - mostly because the backend looks basically the same due to having too many LHD.
Trades
1.
ANA
Tyler Biggs (TML picked him 23rd; Rakell was best player picked after in the SAME ROUND)
    2.
    TBL
      Stuart Percy (2011 25th overall)
      3.
      ANA
      1. Rielly, Morgan
      Additional Details:
2012 draft - this one could be argued but IMO Hampus has developed much better thus far.
      4.
      WSH
      1. Gauthier, Frédérik
      Additional Details:
      2013
      5.
      BOS
      1. Nylander, William
      Additional Details:
2014 - might get some heat for this one. Pastrnak is phenomenal though and the same age.
      6.
      CAR
      1. Marner, Mitchell
      Additional Details:
2015 - bring the heat here too! Marner is probably the better player but wow would Hanifin be huge for us.

You can argue, about certain players (whether Pasta is better than Willy or Marner worse than Hanifin) but regarind Pastarnak, it probably really helps to have gotten to learn from and play with an absolutely elite centerman in Bergeron, I wonder if Nylander had that luxury he would be scoring more. What the Leafs really need is to find a late round steal (ie. Johnson, Timashov, Dzierkals, Bracco, Nielsen, Brooks) and need one of them to become a top six or top 2 player

That is a very good point...I can see Bracco or Timashov developing into one of those steals we need.

Gostisbehere and Parayko were still on the board when the leafs drafted Matt Finn in 2012. Missing in the Tyler Biggs fiasco is that the leafs traded down with Anaheim to pick him. ANA picked Rackell and Gibson with the 2 picks the leafs traded for Biggs. Also in 2011, Palat and Kucherov were still available when the leafs drafted Stuart Percy and Josh Leivo.
