If you don't want to risk Seattle taking someone over Burns, you could probably protect Gambrell and Dahlen over Couture and possibly Kane. Couture's contract is significantly worse, but both are hard to take on if you're Seattle. Their huge salaries could make them untouchable if exposed.

Yeah that's an interesting one to ponder I wonder if Seattle would be at all tempted by Couture. I'd assume probably not because of his contract, but the implications of not protecting your captain are a little rough if I'm honest. I definitely want to bait Seattle into taking Burns and while not having Donato kind of helps with that, I also just don't see him fitting in long term. Same deal with Simek to an extent. I wouldn't be devastated to lose Gambrell, Donato or Dahlen to Seattle, but I'm more just worried about shedding cap at this point (especially if we don't rebuild).
