Description
Made a Canada team today, wanted to try and continue with some other countries.

Choosing the forwards and the defence was really hard because the line is so close around the 16-30 and 10-20 ranges respectively. Fox and Krug might end up being replaced by players like Suter and Pionk but I honestly have a really hard time guessing right now. I think if Fox keeps his play up next year he absolutely deserves a spot at least as an extra.

I do think this is one of the deeper teams the US may have ever put forward. Forward depth choices could also go either way. Players like Keller and DeBrincat might make it over Brady and Rust, but again like Canada I'm partially going with overall fit and team structure, and I have a hard time thinking that the US selection committee wouldn't want both Tkachuks, especially because Brady might be crazy with talented linemates

The goaltenders are the only easy part of this team. I debated putting Campbell, Peterson, or Nedjelkovic as depth pieces, and I realize I made a mistake by making Bishop an HM in my Canada roster, but I think there is a very obvious top 3 in the State's net right now

Honourable mentions:
F: Palmieri, Saad, Keller, Tuch, Garland, Kreider, Farabee, van Riemsdyk, DeBrincat, J. Hughes, Hayes, Atkinson, Oshie, Kessel (These were so hard!!)
D: Hanifin, Grzelcyk, McCabe, Leddy, McDonagh, Dumoulin, Yandle, Manson, Carlo, Faulk, Pesce, Trouba, Pionk, Suter (ALSO super hard)
G: Peterson, Nedeljkovic, Campbell, Quick, Bishop

Let me know what you think!

I absolutely think this could happen, I just hesitate to put a rookie there right away - same way some people might have shot Hughes up to the top pairing last year but now has regressed (possibly only temporarily) a little bit. If Fox is just as good next year I think its possible. I mostly think Columbus's pairing is staying together, and McAvoy and Carlson are also shoe-ins right now so it's hard

Close, he’s number 2 behind mcavoy. I guess it depends on matchups. Seems like right now fox is a little more proficient offensively, with mcavoy being the better two way guy. That’s usually who you want on the top pair. If werenski is top pair left side, that’s definitely who you want with him. If its slavin, maybe you sneak fox in there to try to get some more offense.

Swap tkachuk and boeser.

Very much appreciate you not having Quinn Hughes in the lineup.

He’s not a rookie. The way Seth jones has played this season, he’s not in this lineup. Honestly Carlson is turning really really one dimensional.
