Description

I know lots of people want Ottawa to start makin moves, but I don't think we need to do much other than offload Tierney and one of our goaltenders. Our young players have started to flourish with more playing time so that's what we give them.

As a treat, if we can offload Zaitsev and sign someone cheaper, that would be nice too, but I'm not optimistic. I also think with Pinto's progress the space for Brown in the lineup is practically gone, so if we can trade him for another failing or middling prospect that would be ideal. What I put below is just an idea.

NOTE: The pick in the Tierney selection is so they don't pick Paul or Daccord, who I would value more

I don’t think a 5th rounder is going to be enough to get Seattle to not take who they want.

I debated pushing it to a fourth, but I think the difference between players available wouldn't warrant much more. Point well taken though

Don’t think a 4th would do it either. Put yourself in Seattle’s shoes. Would they rather just be able to pick whoever they want, or get the 100th overall pick?

I do agree the Sens need to chill. They’ll probably add Sanderson at next years deadline. But I think the Sens should offload Tierney, bring in Abramov full time. And try to sign 1 player for 1-2 years at high AAV , maybe a Dman like Martinez or even a forward like Palmieri
