Bruins have cap space to play with here, with 2M of space (assuming they send Hayes down). I left Ryan Spooner off because you could flip him in a separate deal for a defenseman (or if value really wasn't enough in the GL deal, add him there). I know people are going to say, "NOT ENOUGH," for Landeskog but oh well. You don't sell the farm completely for a player like him. He's limited as a winger only. His production actually has been going down. He makes 5.5M. He's good and young, but when have we ever seen a player traded for completely fair value? I personally think Lauzon, Debrusk and a 1st (that could be a high pick) is a pretty good start for a rebuilding franchise. Bruins need to deal from their farm as they cannot keep all prospects. Bruins would still have a good prospect pool, and add a legitimate top 6 threat to their offense. This, is turn, would strengthen their bottom 6.
If no moves were made after this, the Bruins would have around 4M in cap space once the season ends. That could potentially go up with whomever is selected in the expansion draft (Beleskey or McQuaid would be decent pieces for a new franchise).
Expansion draft protection:
Forwards: Marchand, Bergeron, Landeskog, Pastrnak, Krejci, Spooner, Backes
Defense: Chara, Krug, Colin Miller
Goalie: Rask
Exposed: Beleskey, Morrow, Schaller, Moore, Nash, Khudobin, Subban, McQuaid
Exempt: Carlo, Vatrano, Czarnik
