Description

I don’t know where it came from but I’ve seen so many Kessel trades where he’s returning like a third round pick. He was the Coyotes best scorer this year and will not be moved this off-season for a number of reasons.
1. His NMC is still there and he can choose to stay or go as he pleases, I don’t know this for certain but I think he likes being in Arizona where he doesn’t get hounded by the media 24/7.
2. He’s signed for one more season at a reasonable real $ number and the Coyotes don’t have cap issues next season.
3. The Coyotes need someone they can market to put butts in seats next season despite them probably being a team picking in the top 5 next year. Trading their top scorer from last season for pick #99 from this weak draft class sends an awful message to the fans.

People are still under the Illusion that the Leafs retain even if he's traded which isn't the case. Arizona doesn't want to trade him and nobody wants the full AAV. You're totally right, he's not going anywhere IMO.

Been a lot of deals to on here to Devils.
If he is dealt, don’t think a rebuilding club would pay more than mid-round pick for him.
A contender may put up a late 1st though

I’m not saying that he’s worth more, I’m saying he’s not going anywhere. If I were another team I wouldn’t pay more than a 2nd and a prospect for him because of his age and contract. But the point is he won’t be traded
