The premise with the Coop trade is sound but I don’t think Ottawa is giving you Paul and a 2nd for a guy having a career season in a contract year. Ottawa would be buying high and probably stuck giving a contract out at a dollar value that’s considerably higher than it should be before he even puts the jersey on.

Good start on the Eichel deal. Makes sense but light at least 1 or 2 pieces. There will be bad teams more desperate with better 1sts.

Value might be fair but PLD was unhappy in Columbus wanting a bigger spotlight he is going to be even less happy in Buffalo with no Eichel there. Sabres will stay away from this player

IMO the difference between Paul and Copp is NOT a 2nd round pick, especially when Paul is signed for next year at $1.35M and Copp needs a new contract and can go to arbitration.

Ottawa declines.
