Description
Are the trades fair value currently? Probably not, but I had some fun with this and tried to make trades that made at least a little bit of sense.

Trades
1.
MTL
  1. Jones, Caleb
  2. Koskinen, Mikko
  3. Neal, James
  4. Puljujärvi, Jesse
Additional Details:
I have no idea if this would be close, but Edmonton needs a goalie and this is the kind of trade where I could see a team like Edmonton being interested in Price.
EDM
  1. Price, Carey
Additional Details:
Move Price, his contract is terrible and is going to be even worse as he gets older.
2.
MTL
  1. Eriksson, Loui
  2. Schmidt, Nate
  3. 2022 1st round pick (VAN)
Additional Details:
If anyone is gonna trade for Weber, I feel like it would be Jim Benning because he'd salivate at his size and a pairing of Weber Hughes.
VAN
  1. Weber, Shea
Additional Details:
Get out from this contract while you still can and he has some value...
3.
MTL
Byron's a guy I could see Seattle interested in acquiring via trade because he's put up okay numbers in the past and has a medium-sized cap hit which would be moveable and help them hit the floor.
    SEA
    1. Byron, Paul
    Additional Details:
I'd assume the Habs would just take what they could get for him in terms of draft picks or young prospects.
    4.
    MTL
    SEA
    1. Allen, Jake
    Additional Details:
    Expansion draft.

Either one of him or Byron I could see getting taken with the other getting traded to Seattle.
    5.
    MTL
    1. Gostisbehere, Shayne
    2. Patrick, Nolan [RFA Rights]
    3. York, Cam
    Additional Details:
Philly appears to be (for some reason) in win-now mode and getting a top 2 RD would really benefit that team. While they have to give up a really good prospect in Cam York, he doesn't really fit into their window.

Gostisbehere is a cap filler and potential reclamation project for the Habs.

Patrick is good, but his injuries have seriously hurt his value and I could see Philly being interested in moving him.

Again, I have no idea if the value is fair or close in this package. It really depends on your valuation of York and Petry.
    PHI
    1. Petry, Jeff
    Additional Details:
Petry is where you really get your value in a rebuild. He has the most value of the players that the Habs would consider moving and, at his age, he wouldn't really make sense for them to keep.
    6.
    MTL
    1. Lauzon, Jérémy
    2. 2023 4th round pick (BOS)
    Additional Details:
Ben Chiarot SCREAMS Boston Bruin to me. He'd be a good second pairing guy for them and would fit their identity perfectly.
    BOS
    1. Chiarot, Ben
    Additional Details:
Get a 2nd to 3rd pairing defenceman who's younger than Chiarot and a midround pick.
    7.
    MTL
    1. Laine, Patrik [RFA Rights]
    Additional Details:
Laine may not want to sign with Columbus (which this trade is contingent on him not wanting to re-sign) so they get a very good LW on a pretty good contract, a 1st round pick that could very easily be high in the draft and a 3rd pair LD.

I know, this trade is also not close, but something framed around Toffoli+ for Laine.
    CBJ
    1. Kulak, Brett
    2. Toffoli, Tyler
    3. 2022 1st round pick (VAN)
    Additional Details:
If you can get Patrik Laine, you do it. Put him next to Kotkaniemi or Suzuki and that is a disgusting line.
    8.
    MTL
    1. Chytil, Filip [RFA Rights]
    2. Hájek, Libor [RFA Rights]
    Additional Details:
Josh Anderson is the archetype for the type of player James Dolan would want as a tough, hard-hitting guy who can hold his own.

Chytil is a massive overpay for Anderson, but I have a feeling the Rangers are going to overpay for someone exactly like Anderson this offseason and if the Habs can pounce on that they should. The addition of Joel Edmundson as a tough defenceman could also entice them, even more, to give up some really good assets for some tough guys.

And again, yes, I know more needs to be added to this trade.
    NYR
    1. Anderson, Josh
    2. Edmundson, Joel
    3. 2021 1st round pick (MTL)
    Additional Details:
Josh Anderson's contract is very not good, and getting out from him now would be smart for the Habs. If they can pick someone up like Chytil they should 100% do that. Getting a depth defenceman that's younger would also be a smarter move if they're going to rebuild because Edmundson wouldn't really fit what the Habs window is going to be.

Great player but canucks pass. Hopefully we have learned a lesson on long term contracts for older players. Not really in keeping with our youth movement either.

    1. Boston and Montreal don’t make trades.
    2. Like you said, Price has a horrible contract, so don’t expect good value back. Be happy if you can do price for Neal and koskinen
