Dont think bringing back Foligno is in their best interest. Patrick should be 3C with paquette/mikheyev on the wing. Save the extra 3 million for the deadline IMO

While the cost and return of the PHI deal is probably okay, salary wise, I dont think PHI can take back that much in 1 player. JVR and TK for Marner probably works better for both teams, but....

Some of your UFA signings are too light>

Bogosian, Rittich, Foligno, Gally probably get a bit more than that....Not tons more, maybe 500-1.25mil more each, but enough that TOR cant afford 1-2 of them in all likelihood. And even if thats not true, its a pretty top heavy offense again with very little balanced scoring in the bottom 6. TOR would be better if a rookie could make it, like a hallander at 3C, saving them 2mil right there

There would have to be more coming back to TO.

It is a good starting point in a Marner trade but far from a complete one IMO.

I get you for the bottom 6, there third line could also be Coleman -Patrick - Hyman, putting Foligno on the first. I do think as well that the leafs might run a 22 man roster, now mine is 24, saving around 1.5 M, with already 1M cap space, making 2.5 M to give to free agents that you cited that might want more.

Not sure if he fits in a bottom 6 role, but robertson might be on the verge of cracking the lineup as a regular , adding a scoring touch aswell.
Thanks for your insights, love a good hockey analysis and conversation! Cheers

Yup I think so too, his cap does make it less attractive to other team with almost no room for 11 M. JVR would make sense for the Flyers to get rid of in a world where Marner arrives, but I don't think it would make much sense for TML.
I think Patrick is much needed, as he would be the futur 3C, at a good price
