Description
This is not meant to be realistic, just what I think would build the team into a great contender.
-adds lots of depth picks in this draft, allowing Dubas and the great drafting squad to fire shots on many players who will likely fall due to the Covid-infected season.
-bring in multiple younger forwards who play hard and are very solid two way forwards of the future and present, the type of guys that fill out the bottom 6 perfectly long term.
-big fish d man in Dougie Hamilton, who would be likely a perfect fit on a pair with Jake Muzzin.
-all of d core (maybe excluding Holl) are excellent puckmoving d men who also are at least average defensively.
-keeps lots of skill on team while also adding lots of more two way and heart-and-soul type players to bottom 6 who can chip in offensively.
-Paul break-out candidate alongside one of the top 2 lines. Plays similar to what Hyman provided. If he does struggle, Foligno can be moved up as well.
-Raanta and Campbell split starts, 1a/1b style

I don’t like the Florida trade, they want to keep forsling and don’t need rielly at all. The sens trade is an overpay. A good prospect for a 4th liner? No way. Also, with Hamilton signed, I wish u the best of luck signing sandin and Campbell next season.

I edited it to make it even more in Toronto's favour. Rielly could really help Florida PP and would be a great fit alongside Weegar/Ekblad if needed be. I didn't factor in long term into this, if I did very liekly no Dougie fs. The Nick Paul trade I also edited because I slightly undervalued Holl, but looking at Paul's numbers, I think he could grow to be a Hyman type player, and at the very least a middle 6 contributer. As for the Rielly trade, while Rielly reasonably isn't worth that much, his market value is that high. The market for him is apparanetly pretty damn high, and if moved should fetch a lot. It also looks higher because the extension in place makes his value higher than if he were a FA.

I edited trade to make it even more In Toronto's favor ow, but I'll probably slightly edit it again. Rielly's market value rn is gonna be higher than his actual value, and some team will take the bait. He I think would also be a pretty damn good fit in Florida as well as with Yandle likely gone he could be a great long term PP option for them, and would fit in well with the team. Rielly has a pretty high market right now from what it seems, and also the price here is extra high because of the extension preplanned.
