Arizona trade takes place prior to expansion, Oilers protect McDavid, Leon, RNH, JP, Yam, Phil, Kassian, Nurse, Bear, Klefboom, Kuemper

Bring back Benson and he gets a shot if there’s any injuries. Holloway and Broberg should spend a full year in Bakersfield which is why players like Marody and Koekook are back. Martinez gets overpaid for two years although he’s probably looking for term. Schwartz gets a year next to McDavid to show his skill. Bonino and Kessel reunite. If Oilers get a pass he becomes the heir to Kuemper. I think most moves are pretty self explanatory

I think Koekkoek would be at 850,000. Personally I'm not a big fan of his but as a 7th D I don't hate it.

in your scenario the oilers would protect archibald over kassian. lower cap hit and far more effective player over last 2 season. plus i don't think seattle takes kassian at 3.2 mill.

As for the trade I would be interested in Kuemper but i think you are giving up to much even with the 1 year cap dump of kosikinen. i would take out the 1st and go with jones lavoie and a 2nd considering both players coming back are essentially rentals.
