Description
With Parise and Suter being bought out, the Islanders options for upgrades via free agency have increased. Suter can be added to my list of potential 2LD solutions, which currently includes Mike Reilly, Alec Martinez and Jake McCabe. While all three of these players are better than Suter, Suter would likely come cheaper than each of them, without a massive drop in ability or performance. For a 36 year old, Suter has proved rather durable throughout his career as well, reducing the risk that his age may lead to injury. Between Dobson and Mayfield, I don't really mind who he would be paired with - he's still a good enough 2-way player that I don't think either hypothetical pair would massively struggle on either end of the ice with him on it.

Parise on the other hand I'd be a little less thrilled about - would like to see Golyshev or even Bellows get more of a chance at 3LW. However, he'd definitely add some more skill to our middle six and management has expressed interest in him before. I wouldn't love signing him, but I would appreciate it as extra depth and a potential safety net if Golyshev/Bellows aren't legit

- I like Suter, he's much better at even strength than Leddy. But I saw something on twitter that he had some friction with Trotz back when he was with NSH, but he's much older now so maybe it's all good now.

-Now that Parise has been bought out and I don't have to worry about the isles giving up a 1st rd pick for him, I can admit that Parise is a decent player and I wouldn't mind him as the 3lw assuming he takes a cheap 1 year deal (with no P. Bonuses) - but I want to see Golyshev as well and I don't think Lou would screw him after making him buy out his contract in the KHL. Maybe the top 2 rw with be wahlstrom and Bailey, and go with parise-pageau-golyshev.

- Unfortunately Bellows has played his last game with the isles - they'll trade him or he''ll get selected by Seattle.
