Not enough for Fiala. It’s not a terrible package, but it’s just very underwhelming. Merkley is less than a year younger than Fiala. Janne isn’t bad, but doesn’t tip the scales here. If traded for futures, it would require a 1st and A level prospect. Quality > Quantity when moving a guy of Fiala’s caliber.

If you're asking for a 1st and an A prospect, this is a terrible package.

Bottom six players and a late 1st aren't anywhere near enough to get Fiala, and I have no idea why Devils fans need to be told that over and over and over again.

I was thinking less expensive guys who can play on bridge deals through MIN buyout bulge years.
In other words, young players with 2-3 years service time that cannot reach UFA until 2025-26 season.

Thus Kuokkanen, Merkley
And not Zacha, Wood, etc

For some reason I read that as the NJD 1st so I thought it was the 4th OA. But yeah, very late 1st and the rest here isn’t getting it done. No way.

We don’t need to give up Fiala to get cheap roster fillers. We can use UFA and callups for that.

It's pretty annoying that I still need to explain this, so I'm going to try to present this another way.

Forget the "cap crunch" because it doesn't apply to Fiala. Here is a list of players Fiala has produced similarly to in the last two years:

Ehlers
Landeskog
Barzal
Gaudreau
Nylander
Svechnikov
Tkachuk
Boeser
DeBrincat
Konecny
Forsberg

Tell me which of those you would offer this kind of garbage for and not expect to get laughed out of the thread. Oh and Fiala has done that while playing with bottom six players.

This is trolling at this point.
