If Benning signed 38 year old smith to a 3 year $1.5M deal last offseason, Canuck fans would’ve (rightfully) lost their minds.

That was last year. Let's focus on this year and we are not giving up a 39-year old goalie who had top 10 goalie numbers last year away for a bad backup
