Description
Another EP40 offer sheet scenario. This one is probably contentious and as unrealistic as the second one but I'm honestly down for the Hughes brothers gathering.

Putting this together I'm starting to realize that, um, yes. We should actually very much do this, haha

Love Quinn Hughes...love the whole Hughes family.
But the gap between Ty Smith and Quinn Hughes is not a 1st that could be lottery pick in loaded draft.

Make it a conditional 2nd that becomes a 1st if Devils make playoffs.
Seems more realistic.

Sure, or maybe top 10 protection. Seems like the Devils are trying to do better things next season. A 2nd is fine by me too.

Rather keep Hughes though. His defensive game should improve with time and he will be a huge threat on the blue line. Hughes is potentially a 60-70 point player while Ty Smith will probably never put up that many points. No disrespect to Tu Smith, but Hughes has a bigger ceiling.

For sure, it comes down to cap problems and solutions with the Elias Pettersson offer sheet. Which we seem to disagree on so whatever haha. Personally Quin Hughes I think is just too much of an all offense guy. Hoping he comes back a better defender next year without sacrificing his elite edgework
