Description
Meier trade is unlikely, but we've seen a decent amount of unexpected moves this summer so far.

DAL
  1. Burns, Brent ($4,000,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Okay hear me out. Brent Burns would most likely wave his M-NTC for Dallas because it would place him closer to his ranch. This trade would also unite the wonderous duo of Bruns and Pavelski; benefiting both players points production. I know many will disagree with this one, but some trades are never expected and then happen out of the blue.

NJD
  1. Meier, Timo
  2. 2022 3rd round pick (DAL)
Additional Details:
Meier has been rumored to be available for trade. Hischier and him demonstrated great chemistry at the IIHF World Championship for team Switzerland. It wouldn't be too far of a stretch to say the Devils would go out and trade for him, only thing stopping it would be an obviously high asking price on the sharks end. This trade would most likely not happen, but I wanted to do something different to mix it up.

Stars are already about to something stupid by giving 36-year old Ryan Suter a 4 year, $16M contract. No shot they are taking Burns, who's the same age, on a contract that is twice as expensive. 1) The cap wouldn't work, and 2) paying a guy $8M a year until he's 40 is simply not smart.

You also have the picks going the wrong way in that Dallas trade as well. San Jose is going to have to pay fairly handsomely to move Burns this offseason, simply because of his albatross of a contract.
