Thoughts on these lines- 11F 7D

The idea is that with forwards like Spezza, Bunting, Mikheyev, and Kase in your bottom-6, you can have one of Matthews and Tavares play C for them and expect them to keep pace. Could be a really skilled bottom-6.

I think the cap is the issue here. Also Simmonds would want to play. I think leafs will be moving some bodies out.

Matthews hopping down to centre that 4th line is very intriguing though.

Double shifting your top two Cs like that can make sense in the playoffs when it's a do or die scenario, but over a 82 game season it's just not sustainable. Also 7 D rarely works in practice because there's always one guy who ends up playing like 9min a night and never really gets into the pace of the game because they spend so long between shifts.
