Description
All contract lengths are the years remaining at this point in time, not the length when they were signed.

The D pairs aren’t in any particular order, and likely get around the same amount of ice time.

Teasdale, Primeau, and Ouellet’s AAVs are actually slightly lower due to them being signed when league minimum was $750K. Guhle’s contract is lower because of an ELC slide. Hence why the salary cap is around $55K higher than it should be.

    I don't see any situation where Caufield's getting more than Suzuki. I'd have him at, say, 5.25 for 4 years.
    I think Suzuki could take that for 6 or 7 years as well.

    IMO Caufield has a lot more offensive potential than Nick. If we look at Marner and Matthews in Toronto, I’m not expecting him to be at their level, but I don’t think he’ll be that far off from Marner offensively, so $9 million seems fair.

    Also, I’m pretty sure a 4 year contract would walk Cole to UFA, which wouldn’t be great.

    Suzuki at $5.25 million on a long term deal is way too optimistic. That’s less than what Nick Schmaltz got. He’ll be in the high 5’s for a bridge deal, and mid to high 7’s for a long-term deal. That is assuming he doesn’t take a massive step this year.

    I do see where you come from, but we do have to remember that Marner is overpaid by a couple millions. Probably, say, 2M too high? and then Caufield would be around a million or two lower than that. 9M is far too much

    Suzuki I'd want to take a long term deal at the AAV that you have. I think it's just what's most likely. 7.5 seems a bit too much for 5 years; if you want him for 5 years i'd assume that the 6M range would be the most realistic.

    Marner isn’t overpaid, and if he is, it’s only by around $900K. He’s been on pace for 90+ points each of the last 3 years. And Marner’s contract was signed when the cap was supposed to be going up significantly so it looks worse than it is.

    And I’m only giving Cole $9 million if he deserves it, obviously. I just think there’s a really good chance that he could play that way to deserve it, especially since I think he’s already our best offensive player, and he hasn’t even played a full season yet.

    The Suzuki contract is 6 years in total. But yeah, it could end up being 7 or 8 years.
