Both teams decline the Minnesota trade IMO. Backlund is an amazing defensive guy and helps young guys become more defensively responsible. Also I would rather see Monahan go than Backlund.

Flames aren't doing the Backlund trade, Eichel trade is pretty questionable too and Buffalo has been pretty clear in wanting NHL players coming back

Backlund to MN is an interesting idea. I think the value is there for MN to consider it, but I don't see any reason for CGY to make the trade. I'd guess at the end of the day both teams would say no to the trade.
