Description
I saw another person suggest a trade for Couture. He will be 38 at the end of his contract with an $8M cap hit each year. That is a lot for a San Jose team that should be looking to get out of some contracts and get draft capital back for the rebuild/retool.
Of course, Couture still has to waive for this to happen too.
Would this entice SJ?
It is a 22 man roster for the Habs, which is not ideal (especially with the failed physicals at training camp), but it can work.

SJ will not trade Couture - and if we did - we would not retain on what is a very versatile and useful player. His numbers we're down last year because of PK, d zone draws, and just too many minutes. We signed Bonino because of this.

I agree re not retaining.

But if the team is blown up he should be traded as this team will take about 2-3 years to rebuild so trade now while he has more value.

I doubt it. I don't disagree but the organization loves Logan, I can't see him ever being traded.

Fair enough. I think the organization's perspective the last 18 months has simply been wrong. They need to embrace that their rebuilding. But they don't seem to want to so your comment makes sense
